Electricity Shutdown at the Museum

Electricity Shutdown at the Museum
Saturday, August 20, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Due to maintenance of the electrical power grid on the Central Experimental Farm on Saturday, August 20, 2005, two Museum barns will have only natural lighting all day.

The power shutdown will affect the barns in the following ways:

  • Small Animal Barn (Building 91): Natural light only (no electric lights). Washrooms closed. Hand washing station closed.
  • Horse and Cattle Barn (Building 151): Natural light only (no electric lights). One washroom with natural light only will be open. Vending machines closed.
  • Dairy Barn and Exhibitions Areas (Building 88): Operations and electrical lighting as usual throughout the building with the exception of the Exhibitions and the Demonstration Kitchen where there will be no air conditioning. Vending machines operational.

On Saturday, August 20 all visitors to the Canada Agriculture Museum, with the exception of pre-booked groups, will have free admission all day.
