The Canada Agriculture Museum celebrates the arrival of Fall! In addition to daily demonstrations, the Museum will present special weekend activities centred around Canada's bountiful harvest on October 3-4, 10-12 and October 17-18, 2009.
During the Harvest Weekends, experience:
Apple Cider Making * (10:15, 11:15, 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15)
What happens to all of the not so perfect apples? They are ground and pressed into cider! You will love this demonstration because not only will you get to help operate the cider press, but a delicious sample of fresh cider waits for you at the end.
Corn Bread Making (10:30, 11:30, 1:45, 2:45)
You will be able to see a Corn Bread Making and learn all the step by step how to make this delicious bread as well as enjoy a sample. Recipes will be available to bring home.
Cooking with Pumpkins (11:00, 1:00 and 2:00)
In addition to learning about this seasonal fruit crop and the expanding industry in Canada, you will be able to help make some delicious foods using pumpkins. Of course, there will also be samples to taste and copies of the recipes available to bring home.
The Corn Corner (ongoing activity)
Participate in various activities related to this crop. A quiz, popcorn, product display and colouring are some of the activities to enjoy!
