Special Mothers... at the Canada Agriculture Museum

OTTAWA, May 2, 2007
For immediate release

Mothers, grandmothers and the whole family can join in special activities at the Canada Agriculture Museum to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 13. Visitors will learn about “farm mothers”, the animals that work year round to produce many of the foods on which we depend. Free admission for all mothers.

The Canada Agriculture Museum recognizes the importance of mothers on the farm. In fact, most farm animals are mothers! These “farm mothers” will be identified throughout the Canada Agriculture Museum with signs highlighting interesting facts about them. Visitors can find these signs by participating in a “special moms” scavenger hunt.

To celebrate Mother’s Day at the Canada Agriculture Museum, children and adults of all ages can participate in a variety of demonstrations from ice cream making and oatmeal cookie making to meeting the lambs and kids. Also, children can make a special craft as a gift for mom.
