Festival of the Canadian Horse at the Canada Agriculture Museum

The Canada Agriculture Museum is partnering with the Upper Canada District (Ontario) Horse Breeders to host the Festival of the Canadian Horse on Canada Day and July 2, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition to offering its usual Canada Day activities, the Canada Agriculture Museum is pleased to offer this opportunity for Canadians to learn about Canada's national horse, the Canadian Horse. Eight Canadian Horses will be on display and representatives from the Upper Canada District (Ontario) Horse Breeders will present ring demonstrations showing the horses' versatility and love for work.

Spacious outdoor grounds, fascinating indoor exhibitions and free parking - the Canada Agriculture Museum offers families an alternative to crowds and traffic. Visitors can drop by for a fun-filled day of games, activities, ice cream and bread-making. The Museum is centrally located and is easy to reach on bicycle. Free admission on July 1, Canada Day. (Regular admission fees apply July 2 onwards.)

  • Visitors can discover the exhibitions Tractors and One Hundred Years of Science in Agriculture.
  • Children aged six and under can drive the Museum's toy tractors among hay bales.
  • Children's Activity Centre located on the Exhibitions level.
  • Tally-Ho Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides ($), weather permitting
  • Visitors will learn the importance of Canadian breeds with series of signs including fun facts.
  • Food services will be available on site for the two-day event, "The Hot Potato Co." ($).

The Canada Agriculture Museum connects Canadians and the world to the historical and current importance in everyday life of agricultural science and technology through engaging interpretive activities and products centred on an accessible demonstration farm.

Animal Barns and Exhibitions daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Admission Prices (GST included. Prices subject to change without notice.)
Adults: $6.00
Seniors (60+): $5.00
Students: $5.00
Children (3-14): $3.00
Children under 3: Free
Families (2 adults and 3 kids): $13.00
Families with additional children: $2.00 per extra child
Families with additional adults: $3.00 per extra adult
Members: Free
Special rates available for groups (16 or more).

Prince of Wales Drive, south of the traffic circle, north of Baseline Road. Free parking. The Canada Agriculture Museum is located on Prince of Wales Drive on the Central Experimental Farm.
