Dads and granddads will enjoy the Museum’s Tractors exhibition that follows the 100-year-old story the farm tractor from unfamiliar oddity to commonplace tool on the Canadian farm. Also, they will discover the impact electricity had on farmer’s routine household chores, from the turn of the last century to today, with The Farm: Plugged-in exhibition. Kids will be able to make a craft for Dad and everyone can stop by the Demonstration Kitchen to taste some delicious dips and chips. To celebrate Father’s Day at the Canada Agriculture Museum, children and adults of all ages can participate in a panoply of demonstrations from cow washing to ice cream making. On this special day, all fathers enter free.
Daily Interpretation and Demonstrations
The following are the activities and demonstrations that will be featured at the Museum during Father’s Day:

Chips and Dips (from 10:00 to 12:30 and 1:30 to 4:00)
Visitors can help out in the kitchen as our Interpreters make some tasty treats perfect for Father’s Day. Visitors can taste a sample, learn about the interesting ingredients used and bring a recipe home to make fantastic dips to spoil Dad on his special day.
Photo Frame Craft (ongoing)
A great way to make sure that all of our young visitors can have a nice gift to give to Dad. This popsicle stick photo frame decorated to suit Dad’s taste will surely put a smile on his face!
“Name that Dad” Scavenger Hunt (ongoing)
Most people have heard of a “rooster” or a “bull” but what about a “drake”, a “jack” or a “tom”? Visitors will have fun with this Scavenger Hunt as they try to guess the correct names for male farm animals.
Members’ Photography Contest
The second edition of the photo contest will be launched on Father’s Day. Members are invited to explore the Canada Agriculture Museum through the lens of a camera and submit photos between June 18 and October 31, 2006. From 10:00 to 4:00 today, all details of the contest are available in the Classroom of the Small Animal Barn.
Colouring Activity (ongoing)
Children will enjoy colouring a special Father’s Day theme picture for dad.
