Agricultural Fun in August at the Canada Agriculture Museum
OTTAWA, July 20, 2007 For immediate release
August highlights at the Canada Agriculture Museum include the Knit-Out Event, Sunday, August 5 and variety of informative Daily Demonstrations which are featured throughout the month. The popular year-round Birthday Party program for children 3 to 12 continues in August as well.
Among the many daily demonstrations, visitors can have a “tasteful” experience with ice cream making and tasting, learn all about the fruits of our labour in the demonstration garden and watch a milking machine in action. Also, museum-goers can visit the exhibitions “Tractors” and “Food for Health” and, on weekends, with the help of our friendly interpreters, visitors can learn interesting facts about sunflowers.
Knit-Out Event - August 5 Amateur and expert knitters of all ages are welcome to sit and knit outdoors in the Museum's Memory Park, rain or shine, on Sunday, August 5 from noon to 4:30. Participants can ask the Stitch Doctor questions about patterns, visit the charity corner to learn about the "afghans for Afghans" program, take knitting lessons, obtain free knitting starter kits and much more! Free admission for knitters. Participants should bring their own chair. For more information, please contact Wendy, Ottawa Knitting Guild, at wendyjs@magma.ca.
