Day campers welcome retired RCMP horse to the Canada Agriculture Museum

The Canada Agriculture Museum is adopting a retired RCMP Musical Ride horse named Flint.

Police Service Horse "Flint" was born on May 4th, 1987. Flint is part of the RCMP breeding program with a 87.5 % of thoroughbred. At the age of three, Flint was transferred from the breeding farm in Pakenham, Ontario to Rockcliffe Stables in Ottawa for his equitation training.

In 1993 Flint graduated to the Musical where he stayed until 2004. During his 11 years as part of the Musical Ride, Flint traveled to various states within the USA, across the Atlantic Ocean twice to Europe (Switzerland (twice) and England) and as well numerous cross Canada tours to all provinces.

At the end of 2004 Flint retired from the limelight of the Musical Ride and transferred over to the Equitation Section where he was used as a training horse for the young members to learn their equitation riding skills once chosen for the Section.
