Sunny Activities in August at the Canada Agriculture Museum

August highlights at the Canada Agriculture Museum include the Knit-Out Event, Sunday, August 1st, and a variety of informative Daily Demonstrations featured throughout the month.

Knit-Out Event - Sunday August 1

12 noon - 4:30 p.m.

Amateur and expert knitters of all ages are welcome to sit and knit outdoors in the Museum's Memory Park, rain or shine, on Sunday, August 1 from noon to 4:30. Participants can ask the Stitch Doctor questions about patterns, take knitting lessons, obtain free knitting starter kits and much more! Free Museum admission for knitters. Daily Demonstrations in August

Among the many daily demonstrations, visitors can have a “tasteful” experience with ice cream making and tasting, learn all about butter making and watch a milking machine in action.

Every morning this month, from 9 a.m. until noon, drop by the demonstration kitchen to learn about cooking with honey.*

Every afternoon at 2 p.m., knowledgeable Interpreters offer a short guided tour of the new exhibition, Taking Care of Beesness.

*This demonstration is presented by Bee Maid Honey.

Also at the Museum

New! Visit our new exhibition, Taking Care of Beesness along with the perennial favourite, Tractors, both located on the second floor of the Dairy Barn.

Check out the newly designed and outfitted Children’s Activity Centre located within the new exhibition, Taking Care of Beesness (for children 6 years old and younger with their parents; no groups please).

Join our friendly interpreters for additional demonstrations and activities daily. For more information, please consult the sign panels at the entrance to the Dairy Barn and the Horse and Cattle Barn.

The Canada Agriculture Museum is located on the Central Experimental Farm, Prince of Wales Drive, between the traffic circle and Baseline Road. Free parking.

Admission is $7 for adults; $4 for children (ages 3–14); $6 for students and seniors; $16 for families (2 adults and 3 children); children under 3 are free.
